New Brooches collection inspirited with nature and animals

New Brooches collection inspirited with nature and animals

From big and shiny hand carved bowls to small wearable brooches, Yandiwa is going from a  small single step to leap at the time.

Numerous friends and street market customers requested we developed brooches, using the highly patterned wood that we use to carve our bowls and boxes.

All these statements, suggestions and orders encouraged us to move forward, and to develop Yandiwa's "know how" in brooches.

From this point, we centered our interest over atypical animals such as the Dodo, Seal, Platypus, Rhino, Giraffe and Penguin, and the more common bears, rabbit and ... very common Western Australian sharks!

From a single design perspective, we decided to experiment with a large variety of burl wood, and (I'll dare to call it) "common WA wood", such as Sheoak (Allocasaurina sp.), Eucalyptus citrioda and Jarrah (Eucalyptus magenta).
We also, very fortunately, had a chance to purchase and play with some ethically grown and collected Australian Sandalwood (Santalum spicatum).
In the last few days we've sought to develop  reverse-able magnetic brooches. These can be alternated to display the different patterns, and the plain or fine grained wood when it has been collated.

The double sided nature of these brooches means we can offer you an item versatility. This is an important concept for us, creating a single item that can be coordinated with several different outfits, rather than purchasing several brooches to do the job.  We hope to have these brooches on our Etsy and Ecohabitude in the next week or so.

Don't forget that we are here to learn from your interests and desires as much as we are here to try to satisfy them if we can, so do not hesitate to contact us for a private order such as a Star Wars brooch or a Magnetic Magneto brooch !!

Regards to all and
keep in touch over different spaces such as:

Etsy
and more recently developed the EcoHabitude website that we invite you to have a glimpse at.
